Liv.52
Mechanism of action:
Hepatoprotection
Due to the fact that Liv.52 contains natural compounds, it exerts strong hepatoprotective effect that helps fight chemical hepatotoxicity. This drug recovers main functions of the liver by defending the hepatic parenchyma and inducing hepatocellular recovery.
Antiperoxidative action
Liv.52 also promotes the maintaining of functional integrity of the cell membrane, preserves an important and huge group of enzymes, namely cytochrome P-450 that catalyze organic compounds' oxidation, accelerates the period of restoration and the most important thing, it helps to recover functions of the liver in relatively short terms.
Moreover, this drug promotes a quick withdrawal of acetaldehyde that are caused by the ethanol oxidation and is thought to evoke hangovers, and provides body with protection from harm to the liver caused by alcohol.
Liv.52 reduces the lipotropic (that is substances that catalyze the fat decay) action in case of chronic alcoholism and helps to avoid liver's fatty infiltration. In patients suffering from pre-cirrhotic state, this medication stops the cirrhosis process and protects the liver from damages.
Increases appetite
In anorexia conditions and in case of abnormal growth and weight indicators, Liv.52 makes normal the main appetite and saturation functions. Moreover, it diminishes appetite during pregnancy period. Used every day as a health additive, Liv.52 increases appetite, saturation and assimilation processes and thus helps to increase weight indicators.
Indications for use:
- treatment and protection from viral hepatitis, alcohol-induced hepatic diseases, pre-cirrhosis and early cirrhosis, anorexia, reduced appetite and liver disease caused by radiation therapy
- Liver damages such as fatty liver caused by protein-energy malnutrition
- Icterus and diminished appetite during pregnancy period
- As an health supplement during prolonged disease
- As an adjuvant to hemodialysis
- As an additive to hepatotoxic drugs such as anti-tubercular drugs, chemotherapeutic drugs and antiretroviral
Main compounds:
Caper Bush including p-methoxy benzoic acid that is a powerful hepatoprotective agent. It helps to reduce malondialdehyde levels in plasma and cells of the liver. This compound also diminishes the ALT and AST enzyme levels and promotes the development of hepatic functional efficiency. Flavonoids that are a part of the Caper Bush exert great antioxidant effect.
Chicory protects the liver from the harmful alcoholic influence. Moreover, it exerts powerful antioxidant effects that caused by free radical scavenging property. The hepatoprotective effect of Chicory decreases the oxidative degradation of DNA in tissue debris.
Recommendations for use:
It is recommended to first take 2 tablets twice daily. After the first week lower the dosage to 1 tablet twice daily.
Adverse effects:
In case of taking Liv.52 in correct dosages, no side effects occur.
